An acceleration shaft was a device used to accelerate plasma to intensify its energy output. They took the form of large transparent tubes and utilized thermal carbon membranes to contain the plasma during the acceleration process. At least twelve of these devices were used in the Theed power generator complex to accelerate the plasma extracted from Naboo's core before delivering it to the processing plant.
