The Asteroid Bandits, also known as the Mining Pirates, were a group of pirates active in the Corellian system during the Galactic Civil War. In space battles, they flew Z-95-AF4 Headhunters, G1-M4-C Dunelizard fighter, and T-65 X-wing starfighters. After the Battle of Yavin, a group of Mining Pirates led by Dorn Nareusu seriously disturbed the civilian traffic in the Kashyyyk system by destroying numerous transports. After several weeks, Belga Daeri, an official at the Kachirho spaceport, placed a bounty on Nareusu. In 1 ABY, a group of pilots attacked Nareusu's cohorts in the Kashyyyk system to attract the pirate in the system. Dorn Nareusu, piloting an ARC-170 starfighter, was killed in the ensuring fight.
The Asteroid Bandits appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. The Asteroid Bandits were added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Jump to Lightspeed on October 27, 2004.
