The Attack on the Executor was an attack launched by the Hutt Clan against the Imperial Super Star Destroyer Executor in 3 ABY in the Jekara system over the planet Jekara. The attack began after Lord Bokku of the Grand Hutt Council attempted to recover the carbonite-frozen Han Solo, who had been won by the Hutts in an auction hosted by Lady Qi'ra of Crimson Dawn before being turned over to the Sith Lord Darth Vader by the Council's leader, Jabba Desilijic Tiure, in an attempt to maintain relations between the Empire and the Hutts. Insulted, Bokku had an armada of starships surround the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle ST-718, which was transporting Solo back to the Executor, Vader's flagship.
After the Hutts gained control of ST-718 via magclamps and tried to bring it aboard the , the Empire were able to recover the shuttle and eventually brought it back aboard the Executor. At the same time, Vader, who had been chasing his son Luke Skywalker, in starfighters above Jekara, was informed by Imperial Admiral Firmus Piett that he had been requested by Emperor Sheev Palpatine to end the Hutt threat personally. Vader followed his Master's orders and boarded the Hutt's war barge, where he killed the Council members.
Whilst this was taking place, the bounty hunters Boba Fett and Beilert Valance boarded the Executor as part of their own attempts to recover Solo. The pair traversed the ship unnoticed until they were spotted by a KX-series security droid. After killing the droid, Fett betrayed Valance and threw a thermal detonator onto the cyborg, leaving him for dead. Fett eventually made his way to the detention level where Solo was being held, though he encountered members of the Rebel Alliance led by Leia Organa, who were also attempting to recover Solo. A missile hit the ship, causing the carbonite block containing Solo to be sucked into space. Fett used his jetpack to follow Solo to the planet's surface and caught him just he as he entered an ocean. With his bounty secured, Fett returned to Jabba's Palace on Tatooine to deliver him to Jabba.
The death of the Hutt Council left Jabba as the sole leader of the Hutt Clan, lost Crimson Dawn valuable allies, but strained the relationship between the Hutts and the Empire, which Qi'ra took advantage of by sparking a Syndicate War between the criminal factions of the galaxy.
