At some point after a battle in the Candoras sector Poln system, a battle was fought on the Unknown Regions planet Oristrom, homeworld of the Stromma species, between the Empire of the Hand and Warlord Nuso Esva's realm. A number greater than twenty-nine of Chosen, Esva's warriors, were well supplied and entrenched and had the lower hand until Esva assumed command.
However, Imperial Grand Admiral Mitth'raw'nuruodo "Thrawn" arrived and was able to defeat Esva's forces by studying art. In 8 ABY, Empire of the Hand Baron Soontir Fel reminded Stromma Council Liaison Nyama of how Thrawn's "obsession" with art freed the Stromma after the Council Liaison stated that the Chiss's obsession was more unsettling than the warlord.
