Battle of Spefik

A battle was fought between forces of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic for control of the desolate and barren planet Spefik. During the Galactic Civil War the Rebel Alliance established a base there, defended by anti-orbital ion cannons. Around six months after the Battle of Yavin, the base was discovered by the Galactic Empire. They attacked with a force of two fighter wings, including one containing the elite pilot Lieutenant Ranulf Trommer. Trommer destroyed the Rebel anti-orbital ion cannons with a salvo from his starship.

Following the battle, Trommer was transferred to the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Ravagor and fought in the Battle of Aguarl 3. Word of his exploits at Spefik preceded him to his new post, where he was attributed with single-handedly winning the battle.

The battle was first mentioned in the first issue of the 1995 comic miniseries Star Wars: River of Chaos. The issue was written by Louise Simonson and published by Dark Horse Comics on June 6, 1995.
