Black Falcon Ltd. was a subsidiary of Lucasfilm Ltd. that was formed in February 1978 to handle the merchandising for Star Wars. The Black Falcon name was mainly used in 1979 on various merchandise items including books, cassettes, bed sheets, curtains and promotional photographs.
Suzy Rice, who created the famous Star Wars logo, and together developed the logo for the company. The company was short-lived, however, and merchandise began to be licensed under the Lucasfilm name by the second half of 1979. On December 1, 1979, Black Falcon completely merged into Lucasfilm.
