Blast shield

Blast shields were a type of shield. The term blast shield could refer to a large, handheld shield, such as the M3 Bulwark Blast Shield used by the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic, or the blast shield on a helmet that covered the wearer's face.

During the Clone Wars, clone troopers used M3 Bulwark Blast Shields at the Battle of Ringo Vinda in 19 BBY. By 34 ABY, the EGL power droid B0-LT had illegally modified itself with a blast shield which, along with the droid's reprogramming and evasion of arrest, resulted in a 525 credit bounty being placed on its head while it hid on the planet Batuu.
