A female bogling living on the planet Bogano encountered the Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis in 14 BBY. The bogling was trapped behind a broken door below the landing area of Kestis' transport, the Stinger Mantis, on Bogano. She was rescued by Kestis, who gave the creature a new home aboard the vessel. She was initially a source of consternation to the Mantiss pilot, Greez Dritus, who frequently blamed the stowaway for mishaps aboard.
Eventually, Dritus warmed up to the bogling; she was adopted by the whole crew and lived in her home vent when not roaming the ship. She sometimes answered the droid BD-1's beeps with grumbles. BD-1 enjoyed running around with her and they had their own game that involved chasing each other around the holotable. The bogling and BD-1 stuck together when there was tension between the organic crew members. Before the Kadas'sa'Nikto engineer Irei left the ship on Zimara, one of her gifts was a toy for the bogling.
The bogling appeared in the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Her appearance in the 2023 novel Jedi: Battle Scars was one of the only details author Sam Maggs would confirm before its release. When asked about the prospect of additional "Characters-In-Gameplay"—AI companions who join the player during gameplay and assist in exploration and combat—in the 2023 video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, technical designer jokingly confirmed that the bogling stowaway would not be one such character.
