Bonbraks were a diminutive hairy sentient species originating from the planet Bartokan V. Possessing large ears and beady brown eyes, Bonbraks were typically small enough to fit on a human's shoulder, being similar in size to an Anzellan. Bonbraks loved to drink caf. The Bonbrak's own language, Bonbreez, was similar enough to Anzellan that Bonbraks could translate for Anzellans.
According to the musician Crufeela, Bonbraks tasted best when eaten alive.
On their homeworld, Bartokan V, the Bonbrak were worshipped as gods by the Svor Clan, being referred to as the "barat-karabak," meaning "fierce teeth." Because of this, the Clan demanded a special designation for the species, leading to the Galactic Republic classifying the Bonbrak as a protected species.
Bonbrak had gone on to inhabit several worlds, including the planets Valo and Corellia, which other beings referred to as "infestations." Despite being a sentient species, Bonbraks were valuable in the black market, being prized for their taste. Beings would attempt to eat Bonbraks by roasting or deep-frying them.
Several Bonbraks worked in the garage of the Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram on Valo during the High Republic Era. They later accompanied Jomaram when he traveled to the Starlight Beacon. A cluster of Bonbraks were present on Freerago's Satellite Diner and Motel when the bounty hunters Zuckuss and 4-LOM were interviewed by Parazeen Parapa for the Galactic Digest.
