During the Waymancy Storm of 7811 BBY, Brightday was the site of an engagement known as the Second Battle of Brightday. During the battle, a Galactic Republic fleet element held the line, which the Republic's Supreme Chancellor Nagratha later noted as one of the heroic moments of the war at a speech delivered on the 25th anniversary of Victory in the Waymancy Storm in 7786 BBY.

More than a decade before the Clone Wars of 22 BBY19 BBY, the commanding officer Darsius deployed a line of cruisers at Brightday. In time, the young Human Wullf Yularen, a future Republic Navy officer, quizzed his father, the legendary Planetary Security Forces officer Thull Yularen, on how Darsius accomplished the feat at Brightday. The astronomical object later fell within the borders of the New Republic between 12 ABY and 13 ABY.

Behind the scenes

Brightday was introduced in the 2012 reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. The StarWars.com Online Companion to the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Brightday system, and therefore the celestial body itself, in grid square K-8.
