The copse of the Imperial pilot near his crashed TIE bomber

In 1 ABY, a battle took place on Talus between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. During the battle, a TIE bomber was shot down by Rebel forces. Fortunately, the pilot, a friend of Ceth Laike, safely crash-landed and contacted Laike to request evacuation. The Imperial officer quickly assembled a group of operatives and dispatched them to rescue the pilot in the wilderness. However, the first to find the crash site were a group of Binayre scalawags, looking for ship parts to salvage. The criminals assassinated the TIE pilot on the spot. The Binayres then attacked the rescue team but they were all killed in the fight. The Imperial operatives later reported to Laike. The officer indeed regretted the death of his friend but saw an opportunity to wipe out the criminals that infested the area. As stated in his orders, any attack on Imperial personnel authorized him to take whatever actions he deemed necessary to protect his troops. Ceth Laike therefore ordered strikes on criminals and pirates in the Corellian system. The group of Imperial operatives assaulted a Binayre camp on Talus and killed 15 of them. They also eliminated a band of Flails on Corellia. Eventually, Imperial pilots attacked a group of Binayre starfighters in Corellian space. All pirate vessels were destroyed and the Binayre leader "Black Jack" MacDougal was killed in the battle.
