Chiss Ascendancy's northeast-zenith sector

A sector was located in the northeast-zenith of the Chiss Ascendancy. It contained the Ornfra system and the planet Ornfra. In 18 BBY, two skirmishes occurred in the sector as part of a crisis in the Ascendancy. The first was a brief confrontation in the Ornfra system between the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet warship Grayshrike, the Clarr family light cruiser Orisson, the warlike Grysk species, and the Dasklo family. Shortly afterward, the Grysk Shatter-class WarMaster FateSpinner ambushed the Orisson as it returned to the system.

Description

The planet Ornfra and the Ornfra system occupied a sector that was situated in the northeast-zenith of the Chiss Ascendancy. Ornfra was an important economic and political hub of the sector and, as such, all of the Ascendancy's Nine Ruling Families and seventeen of the forty Chiss Great Families which aspired to become a part of the Nine had strongholds on the planet.

At the time of a crisis in the Ascendancy in 18 BBY, the sector bore witness to a skirmish between four parties. The participants were the warlike Grysk species, which attempted to incite a civil war in the Ascendancy; the Clarr family warship Orisson, which sought to destroy a Grysk asteroid missile platform that had been disguised as a Mitth family espionage station and was controlled by a Grysk freighter in the system; the Dasklo family, which defended Ornfra; and the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet warship Grayshrike, which was assigned to Ornfra in order to prevent violence between the Clarr and the Dasklo. The skirmish resulted in the Defense Fleet being able to convince the Clarr of the asteroid missile platform's true nature. Subsequently, the station self-destructed, destroying the Grysk freighter as well.

Soon afterward, the Chiss Patriarch Clarr'ivl'exow "Rivlex" sent Captain Clarr'os'culry "Roscu" and the Orisson to return to the Ornfra system for an investigation: Grysk agent "Jixtus" claimed that the Dasklo family was manufacturing warships disguised as vessels of other Chiss families. As soon as the Orisson arrived in-system, it was ambushed by Jixtus's flagship, the Shatter-class WarMaster FateSpinner, whom he had informed of the Chiss vessel's expected arrival. The Orisson escaped into hyperspace following a brief battle.
