Coronet

A custom-made Nau'ur-class yacht manufactured by Kalevala Spaceworks, the Coronet was designed as both the personal vessel of Mandalorian ruler Duchess Satine Kryze and a symbol of the New Mandalorian government she represented. The upper section of the ship was made to resemble ancient , and the helmsman even steered the ship using a wooden wheel.

The first space seen after boarding the vessel was the Promenade, a grand hall that exhibited many fine exports from worlds throughout the Mandalore sector. The richly decorated interiors and halls were fitted with , from Draboon, and carpets woven from the looms of Harswee. The upper section of the ship served primarily to host Duchess Satine's traveling retinue and included a throne room and several royal suites to house her personal guests.

For the benefit of those who booked passage aboard the ship, from politicians to wealthy travelers, the Coronet was home to many amenities, such as wellness suites, zero-G hydro spas, staterooms, banquet halls, a cantina, a library, and a casino. No matter where one's cabin was situated, these sections were open to all. Many of these rooms were fitted with transparisteel windows that allowed visitors to marvel at the beauty of hyperspace during jumps. Elsewhere in the upper section of the Coronet were the main bridge, officers' quarters, escape pods, kitchens, and the main entrance located at the aft of the ship. In addition to the crew of the Coronet and Duchess Satine's personal guard, the Mandalorian Protectors, the ship was staffed by numerous LEP-series service droids and 3PO-series protocol droids to be called upon by travelers, as well as the advanced and more human-like BD-3000 luxury droids.

The upper section of the ship was also the location of various engineering stations, which were found at the aft and directly underneath the ship's main entrance ramp. A second boarding ramp could be extended directly to these systems, near the motors and reactor shaft.

The long vertical section of the ship's hull was the home of the Coronets more utilitarian facilities. Descending below the hull of the ship were vast cargo holds, but also the economy-class cabins and the crew's quarters. The first-class cargo holds were given priority amidst the dark cargo space. The section of the hull below the cargo holds housed massive power trunking, converters, and repulsorlift projectors. Reaching the lowest portions of the ship were the Coronets modest armament of weaponry, including laser and ion cannons. These defenses were kept for defense against pirates rather than any violent intent, in keeping with Duchess Satine and the New Mandalorian's pacifistic ideals. because of the unusual shape of the ship, the Coronet had to dock at specially designed landing platforms or tall buildings to accommodate for the long vertical section of the hull.

In 21 BBY, Duchess Satine Kryze of the planet Mandalore took the ship to Coruscant, intending to deliberate with the Galactic Senate about the recent acts of the terrorist group known as Death Watch on her homeworld. There were several guests onboard, including Jedi Generals Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, Republic clone troopers under their command, and several diplomatic guests; Senators Kin Robb, Orn Free Taa, Onaconda Farr, and Tal Merrik. As the guests began to eat in the dining area with Kenobi, Skywalker and his men discovered assassin probes in the cargo hold. One of the probes escaped and made its way to the dining room, where it was eventually subdued by Kenobi.

When it was revealed the Tal Merrik was a traitor and that he had smuggled the probes onboard, he took Satine hostage and made his way to the bridge. Merrick stormed the bridge and killed the quartet of Senate Commandos and a human male captain that were posted there before dropping the Coronet out of hyperspace. He would contact Pre Vizsla, who sent reinforcements in the form of several Droch-class boarding ships, which deployed B2-series super battle droids. After a short battle against the droids, Skywalker killed Merrik and the Coronet finished its journey to Coruscant.

The Coronet first appeared in the final scene of "The Mandalore Plot," the twelfth episode in the second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The ship plays a prominent role in the following episode, "Voyage of Temptation," where it serves as the primary location of the story. Inspiration for the unusual design of the Coronet came from the series' Supervising Director Dave Filoni, who conceived the ship in two parts: the upper section, with first-class lounges and a wooden steering wheel reminiscent of luxury ocean liners of the 20th century, and the contrasting lower sections which followed more typical science-fiction concepts, drawing on the dark and eerie passageways of the ship featured in the film Alien.
