The Danuta Temple was an establishment of the B'omarr Order, found within an old building in the city of Trid on Danuta.
The Temple was established in an old building; a short flight of stairs led to a dilapidated door, over which was carved the : a wheel from whose center radiated out complicated spokes. Opening the door jungled some bells; the interior was filled with the odor of incense and chanting. The lighting was very low, as according to their beliefs, true illumination comes from within and there is no darkness when the mind is free; however visitors might stumble on furniture or to the disembodied monks.
The Temple was established by B'omarr Order in the city of Trid on Danuta, which was primarily populated by Hutts and their smugglers during the days of the Old Republic, but later went under control of the Galactic Empire. Like thousands of other religions within the Empire, the monks were tolerated by the Imperials as long as they remained apolitical. In addition to embodies and disembodied monks who lived within the Temple, some supporters of their religion lived within the city of Trid and only visited the Temple during the regular ceremonies and prayers. One such visitor was Meck Odom, an Imperial officer whose position in the Imperial Military forced him to keep his religious beliefs a secret.
On his mission to Danuta, fresh Rebel mercenary Kyle Katarn had to infiltrate the local Imperial Research Facility; knowing that his friend, Meck Odom, was serving in that base, and that he was spiritual, he asked the directions from a street vendor to a religious establishment, in order to contact him and ask for his help. He entered when he knew that the afternoon service was starting; the monk initially denied that any Imperial officers visit the temple, until Kyle persuaded him that he is Meck's friend and his secret is safe. The darkness made Kyle uncomfortable and was about to shoot a "Brainwalker" when the monk told him it was an enlightened monk. He was led to Meck but as he was in the middle of his prayers, he said to meet later in the Blue Moon club.
Kyle was shadowed by Rebel agent Jan Ors who was to ensure that he wasn't a double-agent who would betray the Rebellion; seeing him entering and exiting the building, she also entered. She was puzzled to realize that it was a temple, and she was greeted by an Ortolan monk wearing saffron robes. She claimed that she entered the wrong door and left, trying to catch up with her target.
Although the Temple and one of the monks from it first appeared in the Dark Forces: Soldier for the Empire novel, it was its audio adaptation that established their affiliation with the B'omarr Order.
The narration suggests that Katarn briefly entered the building, left a message for Meck (apparently to the Ortolan monk) to meet him later in the Blue Moon and remained unsure whether Meck went there to receive it. In the audio drama however, Kyle meets Meck himself there, and they arrange a meeting in the Blue Moon.
