Detention Block 2180 was a prisoner detainment area on the first Death Star. It was located in proximity to the battle station's Superlaser Fire Control Room and to the Hangars 84G and 85G.
At the very beginning of the Galactic Civil War, this block held prisoners of war associated with the early Rebel Alliance. In 0 BBY, when the battle station was in the final phases of construction, a Jedi being held with the other Rebels devised a plan to help the inmates escape the station in a quickly growing uprising. However, the stormtroopers of the 501st Legion managed to put down the riot, killing or capturing all the escaped prisoners.
