Hangar 85G was a hangar bay inside the first Death Star, in operation during the Galactic Civil War. This hangar was located in proximity to the battle station's Superlaser Fire Control Room and Detention Block 2180, along with Hangar 84G.
Hangar 85G became a battleground when a number of Rebel prisoners escaped from their cells on the Death Star and attempted to flee the battle station. A group of would-be escapees, led by a Jedi, blasted its way into Hangar 85G, and commandeered a transport. However, the stormtroopers of the 501st Legion countered the prison break, killing the escapees including the Jedi. Hangar 85G was secured, and the threat passed.
Hangar 85G was destroyed, along with the Death Star itself, when it exploded during the Battle of Yavin.
