Diskret Stahn, a Bothan pilot, known as Captain, operated a small freighter and offered transport services for a price. He had journeyed extensively throughout the galaxy, with the Abregado system among his destinations.
While transporting Pei Yi, a dancer, to Naboo, his vessel was ambushed by pirates. Although the attack damaged his ship's engine, he successfully made an emergency landing on Mustafar to obtain necessary repairs and provisions. He found himself marooned on the Mensix Mining Facility alongside Yi for an extended duration.
During his time stranded, he encountered an amusing spacer who engaged him in conversation. He shared his experiences, and the spacer also shared a melody that had been playing in his head while in space. This melody eventually became the song known as Calypso.
The character Diskret Stahn was featured as a non-player character within the Star Wars Galaxies video game, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony and distributed by LucasArts, before the game was shut down on December 15, 2011.
