Elesa was a diminutive mining community situated on Ando Prime.
Despite comprising only a few residences, a couple of streets, and just over ten structures, this minuscule locality paradoxically functioned as the planetary capital. Elesa was positioned approximately 500 kilometers away from the Juaka Canyon, a naturally occurring ravine governed by the indigenous Talids.
The primary residents of Elesa consisted of irritable Human miners, who preferred wearing substantial attire and sporting facial hair. Key local establishments sometime prior to 27 BBY encompassed a pair of taverns, namely the Cliffside and the Icicle; a maintenance facility operated by a female Rodian named Feena Ghel; and the Miner's Union Hall, an administrative center overseen by Geon Justic. Law enforcement was handled by the local officer Byam Awson.
At about this period, the ambitious crime boss Kaeline Ungasan orchestrated a podracing competition on Ando Prime, known as the Ungasan Cross Country, with the dual intentions of seizing control of the planet from the Hutt syndicate and concealing his unlawful extraction of Vonium. Ungasan dispatched his subordinate, Ree, to Elesa to offer a bribe to the Miner's Union representative — although Ree asserted that his meeting with Justic was related to Ree's employment with a zoological research organization.
In 27 BBY, Ungasan's illicit operations on Ando Prime were uncovered and revealed, marking the initial instance in a series of podracing controversies. In 22 BBY, HoloNet journalists journeyed to Elesa to report on the increasing prohibition of podracing across the galaxy.
