An energy ribbon was a type of energized edge that could be applied to a suitably conductive melee weapon.
Similar to a monomolecular energy cord in that it drastically increased the cutting power of a weapon, an energy ribbon glowed with fluorescent light and was high enough in voltage that it could shred metal or incapacitate opponents with its energy. Electroripper staffs were tipped with energy ribbons, such as the one notably used by Enfys Nest.
