Ernie Fosselius (born 1946) is a filmmaker who wrote and directed the first high-profile Star Wars fan film, Hardware Wars (1978). He later provided the voice of Malakili in Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. Fosselius also recorded dialogue for the Geonosian Poggle the Lesser for the 2002 film Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. He imitated the sounds of his dialogue played backwards and recorded Swahili-type clicking noises and the sound of him blowing on the edge of a piece of paper, which were all used by sound designer Ben Burtt to create Poggle's Geonosian language dialogue. Fosselius replaced actor Marton Csokas in the role after he had been previously cast as the character. Both actors were uncredited in the finished film.
