The Rebel Alliance learned of the existence of an Imperial repair facility (actually a converted BFF-1 bulk freighter) near Coruscant through the Mon Calamari pirate Tuz, and realized that its destruction would cripple the infrastructure that serviced the starships the Death Star's construction relied on. A pair of Y-wings from Red Squadron was tasked with destroying the facility.
When the Rebel attack arrived, the Falcon was near the facility and attempted to assist in its defense. Keyan Farlander destroyed the corvette with proton torpedoes, along with the TIE starfighter defenses and protective minefield. The arrival of the EF76 Nebulon-B escort frigate Vulture proved too late to save the facility, which was destroyed by Farlander's wingleader, setting back the completion of the Death Star.
