Father Ocean

Description

"Father Ocean" was the name given to the collective oceans of the planet Lazerian IV by the Akwin, a species of sentient amphibious mammals native to the planet. The two oceans into which Father Ocean was split were known as Caz Ocean and Dox Ocean. The two oceans were divided by the continent of Doxet—Caz Ocean to the west and Dox Ocean to the east—and surrounded the continents of Laz, Elgar, and Torm as well as both polar ice caps. The city-state of Doxeti on Doxet bordered Father Ocean's coastal waters, while the cities Dorynn, Devit, and Lazeria City on Laz and Tormaine on Torm did so as well.

Father Ocean was rich and abundant with life, including multiple marine creatures such as coral and other small sea creatures. Both the surface-dwelling Humans known as Lazerians and the Akwin used the marine life as food, with the former utilizing fishing practices. There were many aquatic plants as well. It was also rich with certain minerals that were capable of blocking sensor scans; because of this, the Akwin, who dwelled within Father Ocean in numerous city-states, remained largely undiscovered by the Lazerians.

Behind the scenes

Father Ocean was created by John Terra and introduced in Twin Stars of Kira, a 1993 supplement to West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
