Fermented milk tea was a fermented variety of a beverage involving milk and tea that was sold at a bar located in a hub near the equatorial forests of the Outer Rim world Ryloth during the High Republic Era. At some point no earlier than 379 BBY, Marda Ro—the Evereni founder of a group of pirates who would eventually become the Nihil—visited the bar during her search for others of her species and ordered fermented milk tea, which she then drank. Ro later mentioned the beverage in a recording she made for her descendants. By 252 BBY, during his youth, Ro's great-great-grandson Marchion Ro had listened to the recording, including the message where fermented milk tea was mentioned.
