In 1500 BBY, during the New Sith Wars, the Galactic Republic defeated a Sith incursion at Gap Nine.
The planet hosted temples to evil spirits built by a group that visited the world centuries before the reign of the Galactic Empire. Members of this group were eventually defeated by the Jedi, who transformed the temples into storehouses of knowledge.
During the years of the Galactic Empire, these temples were robbed for their precious artifacts, and an Imperial fuel-ore processing plant was built.
