During the time of the Galactic Empire, the wood from Garna trees became popular in the Core Worlds, so mega-corporations, such as TaggeCo, began harvesting them from Pamorjal. However, some of the citizens of Pamorjal opposed this exploitation of the planet, so they formed a resistance movement called the Pamorjal Freeman's League. The League attacked the assets on Pamorjal of all mega-corporations that were harvesting the trees.
