Hanchin-set

The phrase "Hanchin-set" denoted the positioning of the gas giant Hanchin beneath the horizon as viewed from the moon Qina. This expression originated with the moon's inhabitants, characterizing the event where a section of Qina's terrain fell into shadow. A notable instance of this infrequent and fleeting event took place during the winter solstice. It was said that during this Hanchin-set, the Vashan bodhis would regurgitate sin-bullets.

A Hanchin-set induced a period of diminished light across a section of the moon's surface, an occurrence that arose because the gas giant typically illuminated Qina with its own light and reflected light, thus providing light for most of the year.
