Harte Secur was a Human city on the planet Naboo that lay on a peninsula south of Lake Vis. Its layout consisted of a central courtyard with a command center, with a paved outer area containing various civilian and military buildings. Harte Secur was also defended by turrets and shield generators. Harte Secur Airbase was located southwest of the city, and it was known for training some of Naboo's best pilots. A Research Center and an aquatic shipyard were also attached to the city externally.
In 32 BBY, during the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation, a Droid control program used to keep the Trade Federation Droid Army active was stolen by a Naboo team and taken to the Harte Secur research center. As the Naboo were able to slice the program and deactivate a portion of the Droid Army, Viceroy Nute Gunray assigned the battle droid OOM-9 with a task force to retrieve the program. After storming the research center, a technician reactivated a camp of deactivated battle droids.
OOM-9 was ordered to use the new forces to destroy Harte Secur, overcoming its defenders, including troopers, speeders, and mechs. The Trade Federation then occupied Harte Secur, building a new command center atop its ruins. Later, the Gungans began preparing to take on the Trade Federation in the Battle of Naboo, for which they needed fambaa beasts, which were held in Camp Six near Harte Secur. The Gungan Boss Rugor Nass had the Gungan Grand Army attack Camp Six and subsequently had them liberate Harte Secur, in order to draw the Trade Federation out of Naboo's capital, Theed.
Harte Secur was a city on the planet Naboo, inhabited by the Human Naboo and loyal to the Royal House of Naboo. It was located on a peninsula south of Lake Vis with various treelines on its coast. Most of Harte Secur's surface was paved with bricks, and the architecture was similar in style to Naboo's capital Theed. Three stone pathways led to the city from the south, and each was guarded by a pair of turrets and a shield generator. Between the western and central entrance there were three houses, a gazebo, and a power core.
The northwestern side of the city had buildings on the opposite sides of its path. The westernmost side had a tower, six houses, another power core, and a mech factory. The corner of that side of the city had a power core, a power station, and a troop center, as well as a temple and a house on a small grass-covered hill where flowers grew. The eastern side of that area of Harte Secur had a prefab shelter, a War Center with a power core and a turret next to it, two prefab shelters next to a heavy weapons factory, another power core, a troop center, a fortress, another power core and a Research Center.
The center of Harte Secur was surrounded by walls in a rectangular formation, with a large archway leading into it. Inside it was a body of water surrounded by a fenced path. A total of six obelisks were placed in an even formation on both sides of the water. A command center was built at the top of the central courtyard of the city, with two turrets and two power cores on its sides. The area north of the command center was covered with trees.
The eastern side of the city had three houses, a power core, two different types of turrets, and a mech factory, all on a paved area that ended as the ground to the north was elevated. The elevated area had a variety of trees and flowers, as well as a power core, and at its flat peak was another paved built up area. That area had, in clockwise order, a turret, two prefab shelters, another turret, a spaceport, a prefab shelter, two houses, and an airbase.
Multiple facilities associated with Harte Secur were located south of the city grounds. Directly south of the city was a base that contained a research center, two turrets, and a power core. The base was on a paved path and was surrounded by a light wall, with a gate on its eastern side. The gate was on a pathway that led northwards, eventually splitting off into the eastern and central entrances to Harte Secur. The river that surrounded Harte Secur flowed south on the western side of the city, surrounding the research base before flowing to the east.
On the path to the western entrance to city there was a small fishing facility consisting of two shipyards, an animal nursery, a turret, a sentry post, and a power core. Five utility trawlers gathered fish from the river there. The western path out of the city led down south to the Harte Secur Airbase, run by the Naboo Airforce. Several of Naboo's best pilots resided there. In the forest to the east of the city there was a hidden base belonging to the Gungans, a species indigenous to Naboo.
Following the attack by the Trade Federation during the Invasion of Naboo, Harte Secur was occupied by the Trade Federation Droid Army.
In 32 BBY, Naboo was invaded by the Trade Federation, and Harte Secur was fortified to prepare for a potential attack. The Trade Federation Droid Army established a camp directly south of Harte Secur. Early in the invasion, the Royal Naboo Security Forces team Force Command Two successfully captured a droid control program from the Trade Federation battle droid OOM-14. It was taken to the Harte Secur research base, where the program was used to deactivate OOM-14's forces at the nearby camp. Wary that the program could be duplicated and used to turn the Droid Army against him, Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray tasked the B1-Series battle droid OOM-9 with retrieving the droid control program.
OOM-9 was first sent to the Deactivated Camp, where he rendezvoused with a task force sent to retrieve the program, which included five droidekas, a bio cannon, and a Neimoidian technician. The task force marched towards the research base using the eastern path, Fighting groups of royal troopers from Harte Secur that guarded the path and using the cannon to destroy several turrets. At the research center, the droids killed the five troopers and seven Elite Royal Crusaders protecting it and retrieved the program. After reactivating it, OOM-9 directed his expanded army towards Harte Secur on Gunray's orders, taking one of the entrances defended by two turrets. OOM-9 sent his droidekas two gun down the nearby troopers while the cannon destroyed the turrets.
The bio cannon then rolled into the courtyard to destroy the command center, while the battle droids protected it by clogging the archway entrance. Harte Secur's defenders, which included sixteen troopers, seven Royal crusaders, four steadfast tanks, four champion mechs, two heavy champions, three Naboo energy catapults, four V-19 landspeeders, and two advanced Tuskcat Troopers, streamed in to save their city, but they were unable to stop the Trade Federation from destroying the command center and taking Harte Secur.
The Trade Federation continued to occupy the ruins of Harte Secur during their invasion, establishing Camp Six nearby to hold fambaas, creatures native to Naboo that the Trade Federation planned to skin and sell. When the Trade Federation turned the attentions towards quashing the Gungans, a mariner captured at Harte Secur told OOM-9 about Ganne, a Gungan boss of the town Rellias, which ultimately led to an attack on the Gungans. Later, the Gungan leader, Boss Rugor Nass, organized the Liberation of Harte Secur to regain the use of fambaas for the Gungan Grand Army in the Battle of Naboo.
Harte Secur was first mentioned in the Prima Games' strategy guide—released on November 7, 2001—for the LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, released on November 11, 2001. In the game, it appears as an objective for the player to attack in "Behind the Lines," the second level of the Trade Federation campaign, and "The Liberation of Harte Secur," the sixth level of the Gungan campaign.
The portrayal of Harte Secur in "Behind the Lines" differs in the strategy guide and the game. The strategy guide describes the central courtyard as located outside Harte Secur, with the command center located to the north of it. The guide still instructs the player to send their canon into the courtyard, as it can still fire at the command center from there. In the game the command center is located inside the courtyard.
