The Hutt Expeditionary Force was an armed force of the Hutt kajidics sent to the Yavin system after the Battle of Yavin. Led by the Sullustan Osae Meilea, their mission was to salvage debris of the destroyed Death Star that was scattered across the moon's forests. Some of the salvaged technology was later sold to the Empire and the Rebel Alliance.
The Expeditionary Force used force of arms to shut down rivaling salvage operations. On one occasion a spacer was paid to capture a Black Sun freighter, Lupus Maroo, that had tried to leave the moon carrying Death Star salvage.
