In the book, the slicer and con artist "DJ," while bypassing the anti-intrusion measures of a data console aboard the stolen yacht Libertine and conversing with Resistance member Finn, takes out a small, gleaming tin with Icindric caviar in it from his coat and offers it to Finn. The latter, not being familiar with the product, declines the offer. The scene of the film depicting that conversation does not include any mention of Icindric caviar.
