Janelle was a Human female and chief of the Mountaintop smugglers who lived during the Galactic Civil War. In 1 ABY, she acquired a ring from Herman Pate as a payment of a debt. The ring was a family heirloom previously lost by Vance Groten to Herman Pate during a Sabacc game. As Groten intended to recover his ring, he dispatched a spacer to find the smuggler leader. Janelle was killed in the confrontation.
Janelle was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. Janelle was added to the game as part of the "Legacy Quest" with the release of the "Publish 25", a.k.a. the "New Game Enhancements," on November 15, 2005.
