Jergan

A male Human swindler known as Jergan frequented the Upper City Cantina situated on the planet Taris during the era of the Jedi Civil War. His usual activity within the cantina was to seek out female patrons. He would initiate conversations by inquiring about their opinions of the cantina's Bith band, subsequently proposing a backstage pass for a fee of twenty credits, after which he would abscond with the money. In 3956 BBY, at least one woman, named Lana, fell victim to this scheme.

Biography

During the Jedi Civil War, in his role as a Human male con artist, Jergan was a regular at the Upper City Cantina on the planet Taris, where he sought out women to deceive and relieve them of their credits. Upon identifying a potential target, he would approach her and inquire about her thoughts on the cantina's Bith band. Regardless of her response, he would offer her a backstage meeting with the band after their performance, falsely claiming an arrangement with a Rodian bodyguard who could facilitate the encounter for twenty credits. In reality, no one backstage knew Jergan. After receiving the money, which he claimed was for the Rodian, Jergan would flee, never to return. In 3956 BBY, Lana was deceived by Jergan's lies and lost her twenty credits. Consequently, Lana began a search for Jergan to recover her money, with interest. Jergan was aware of this pursuit, yet he continued his activities in the cantina.

One week following his con of Lana, Jergan encountered Revan, a soldier of the Galactic Republic, in the cantina. However, when Revan attempted to engage in conversation, Jergan declined, stating that he was presently occupied with finding a female companion for the evening.

Personality and traits

Jergan employed deception to swindle unsuspecting women out of small amounts of money. He was described as having black hair, gray eyes, and a pale complexion.

Behind the scenes

Jergan's initial appearance was as a non-player character (NPC) in the 2003 video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, where the player, Revan, has the opportunity to interact with him in the Upper City Cantina. While Revan's gender can be customized in the game, Jergan refuses to speak to the canonical male character. If the player chooses a non-canonical path and plays as a female Revan, Jergan's scam is revealed when he attempts to approach her with the offer of a backstage pass. If the player accepts and pays him twenty credits, he runs off with the money, promising to arrange the meeting. Revan then encounters Lana, who reveals Jergan's con artistry and that he had recently used the same scheme to take her money. Lana also believes that Jergan will not return to the cantina because he knows she is looking for him.
