Jogan Fruit Parfait was a type of purple-and-white parfait dessert made using layers of jogan fruit, sweet creams, and jellies. It was created by the Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs for his second cookbook, The Life Day Cookbook, which he released at some point after publishing his first cookbook in 34 ABY.
Tuggs created the dish because he wanted to represent the extremely popular jogan fruitcake in the book but did not want to suggest serving such a regularly eaten dish in a festive menu. Instead, he tried to capture the same notes in something new and fresh. He described the dish as cool and refreshing and claimed that it would remind those who ate it of all the things they loved while also giving them a fresh perspective, just like the holidays themselves.
Jogan Fruit Parfait was created as a recipe for the 2021 Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the gelatin uses unflavored gelatin, water, full-fat coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, and ube extract. The recipe for the parfait uses ube ice cream, whipped cream, and sweetened coconut flakes.
