Kadara Calrissian was a female individual and the daughter of Landonis Balthazar Calrissian. In the years of peace after the Galactic Civil War, Calrissian attempted to start a family, and his daughter was born in 13 ABY. In the time they were together, he was a loving father, however in 15 ABY, when she was two years old, she was kidnapped by the First Order, along with other children of former Rebel leaders.
After the tragedy of losing his daughter and his failure in a quest with Luke Skywalker to find answers about the growing darkness in the Force, Calrissian settled on the desert planet of Pasaana to lead the life of a "hermit". At first, exiling himself and hoping to bury his painful memories, he found comfort from the modest and friendly native Aki-Aki communities and the simplified life centered him.
Landonis Balthazar Calrissian's daughter was first mentioned in the 2019 reference books Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Galactic Guide by Matt Jones. Although his daughter was not mentioned in the film itself, Calrissian referenced the kidnappings of former Rebel leaders' children by the First Order that she was a victim of in lines from a deleted scene published in The Visual Dictionary. According to co-writer Chris Terrio, Lando's revelation about his daughter being kidnapped was meant to give greater context to the targeting of Ben Solo. She was first identified as "Kadara" in Adam Christopher's 2022 novel Shadow of the Sith. Kadara's name was a reference to Lando's original name of "Lando Kadar" in Leigh Brackett's script for the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
