A droid foundry for the Confederacy of Independent Systems was located on Kudo III. As the droid factory had not been automated by the time the Clone Wars broke out, the foundry was not automatic and had to be operated by the Kudon population. After General Anakin Skywalker encountered Separatist droids in the Corvair sector, Republic Intelligence discovered the foundry. Admiral Wullf Yularen planned an attack on the foundry, at the risk of causing many Kudon casualties.
