MSF mouse droid

The MSF mouse droid, alternatively referred to as the MSF-series, represented a line of wheeled messenger droids that were produced at the X2-4 facility located on Uffel.

Characteristics

These droids were a specialized version of the MSE-series mouse droid, enhanced to execute minor technical repairs and equipped with small repulsorlift engines for hovering. They included a recording device for capturing both audio and visual information, a pair of tool mounts, two extendable arms, and an integrated comlink. Known for their affordability, amiable nature, and practicality, these droids achieved widespread popularity, notably within the Cularin system, and significantly contributed to the economic prosperity of the Uffel droids. Owning one or two MSF droids was once considered a symbol of prosperity.

History

The MSF-series was conceived by QS-2D, a droid entrepreneur who oversaw the droid manufacturing plants on Uffel. QS-2D opted to market novel droid designs when Uffel's initial mining endeavors ceased to be lucrative. The MSF design proved immensely popular. However, to deflect scrutiny towards the "independent droid," QS-2D asserted continued employment under an organic, yet secluded, master. Furthermore, QS-2D retained the original prototype of the design, known as MSF-F2.

A debris storm temporarily halted the production of the MSF line, but it was eventually restarted after a sabotage attempt was thwarted by a band of heroes originating from the Cularin system. Subsequently, the MSF-series droid MSF-111 developed an attachment to one of the heroes, departing Uffel to accompany them.
