Mann was a human male captain of the Galactic Empire. Around 18 BBY, during the early years of the Imperial Era, he was stationed on Lau when he encountered rogue clones Omega and Crosshair. Following him scamming them of credits and capturing their lurca hound Batcher, he was eaten alive by a rathtar who burst through its cage doors.
Mann was stationed on the planet Lau and was a regular visitor to the local cantina, where he often collected the spoils of the day's earnings. When he spotted Omega winning a hefty sum against a Trandoshan in a game of balaans, he challenged her. Considering the growling Batcher to be a distraction, he ordered her to be escorted outside, but nevertheless he, to his shock, lost the game either way. He proceeded to let Omega take the win, but immediately after told her that gambling on Lau is illegal and demanded she pay a fine. Afterwards he left the bar, but captured Batcher, who was sitting outside.
After Omega and Crosshair entered the spaceport in hopes of finding their lost pet, Mann ambushed them with several TK stormtroopers. He demanded they surrender the credits, taunting them that Lau has a very strict pet policy. Adding to that, he ordered them to turn themselves in, as he had been just notified of their escape from the Tantiss Base. Following a brief standoff, Omega released Batcher from her cage, along with all creatures in the area. During the chaos, Mann took cover right next to a cage containing a rathtar and with it banging the cage doors, they gave in, unlocking them. Much to his horror, the creature grabbed him with its tentacles and dragged him inside the cage as he tried escaping by grabbing the ajar doors, only for that to cause them to close. He then screamed as the rathtar devoured him alive.
Mann was a human male with pale skin, brown hair, and blue eyes. A vain and materialistic person, to the point of toying with a credit in his hands when he was idle, he very much enjoyed the position of power he was given being an Imperial captain and intended to exploit it. Mann was a smug person, playing balaans against Omega and overconfidently taunting her during the game. After he lost, he bent the rules and blackmailed her into giving him the credits back. A scheming individual, he was not above capturing pets to bait others into his traps, too, exploiting their attachment. Even after Omega won the credits from him fairly, he still considered them to be his credits and saw it right for him to demand them back.
Mann first appeared in "A Different Approach," the fourth episode of the third season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. He was voiced by Harry Lloyd. Mann originally was supposed to play an entire round of balaans against Omega in the episode, but it was cut to only the main moves to keep the pace of the episode going.
