Nutritive milk was a type of milk. During the Imperial Era, members of the Galactic Empire as well as members of several Partisan rebel groups drank the milk. Although the human Jyn Erso thought the milk was bland and not as filling as real food and other Partisans, including the Twi'lek Xosad Hozem refused to drink it, nutritive milk was cheap and satiating enough for survival purposes.
Nutritive milk was a type of nutritional milk. The human Saw Gerrera and his rebel group known as the Partisans kept containers of nutritive milk in the bulkhead of some of their ships as well as in their outpost on the planet Wrea during the Imperial Era. When he was raising the human girl Jyn Erso at the base, Gerrera provided her with cans of nutritive milk, which he also preferred to feed the others that would stay at the base, saying that he preferred to avoid the "hassle" of solid food items. Some of the Partisans, such as the Twi'lek Xosad Hozem, did not enjoy the milk and would purchase other food to eat. Erso felt that the milk was bland in taste did not fill her up the way that real food did. When she lived on the Five Points space station, she saved her credits by living off of nutritive milk and vegetable protein straws, both being cheap food options.
When Seyn Marana, an Imperial agent of Inferno Squad, successfully infiltrated the partisan rebel group known as the Dreamers while undercover, the Twi'lek rebel Dahna offered her nutritive milk and a meiloorun fruit aboard their ship. The Dreamers also kept nutritive milk at their encampment on the planet Jeosyn, with the human rebel Lux Bonteri having some near his sleeping area. The Imperial lieutenant Thane Kyrell was dispatched to find a Rebel base on Dantooine before the Battle of Yavin. While at the base, the Imperials "commandeered" food from a nearby village, including nutritive milk. The Imperial officer Berisse Sai drank nutritive milk while serving aboard the dreadnaught Executor.
Nutritive milk first appeared in the 2015 novel Lost Stars, written by Claudia Gray.
