In 19 BBY, Nikardun General Yiv, the head of the Nikardun Destiny, created a blockade over the Governance's capital, Rapacc, demanding its leaders to ally themselves with the Hegemony of the Niakrdun. In that time, Chiss Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo (Core name "Thrawn") and Admiral Ar'alani of the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet visited the Rapacc system after they uncovered a freighter with several dead Paccosh refugees who attempted to flee the Nikardun. There, Thrawn met Paccosh Uingali foar Marocsaa, who informed him of the Nikardun's goals with the Paccosh, and that they were being held captive, before Thrawn departed, Marocsaa gave the Chiss a ring of the Marocsaa subclan depicting a Chimaera. After the meeting, Thrawn continued to meet several examples of Yiv's conquests and eventually confronted the Benevolent. During that confrontation, Thrawn destroyed the Destiny's capital, the Deathless and all aboard, but Yiv, who had been captured and interrogated by Thrawn. And therefore, liberating Rapacc.
Later on, Marocsaa informed his ally, Thrawn, of the refugees from Sunrise, which Thrawn and Mitth'ali'astov (Core name "Thalias") later met. During the meeting, Thrawn gave Uingali his subclan's ring, and discovered a "civil war" that had occurred at Sunrise, which in fact, had been created by Yiv's master, the Grysk "Jixtus," and his agent, Haplif of Agbui. After uncovering certain powers the leader of the refugees held, which called herself "The Magys." Thrawn, and Uingali then attempted to know more of the misterious Magys' homeworld and civil war, as the refugee stated that her world was lost, and that it could not be saved, and therefore, all of her people should die and join "the Beyond."
