Tuggs had hoped to attend the festival himself as part of a culinary tour of the galaxy that he took between 34 ABY and 35 ABY, but the timing did not work out, so based on the reviews he had received, he included a recipe for the battercakes in his third cookbook, The Ultimate Cookbook, which was published in 35 ABY. In the book, he suggested pairing the cakes with Dhanduese Drums on top for a great flavor combination and promised that he would send out battercakes to help people celebrate during the next Festival of the Ancestors, as the event occurred every forty-two years.
Pasaana Battercakes were created as a recipe for the 2023 Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a recipe book written by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe recipe for the cakes makes use of all-purpose flour, baking powder, ginger, nutmeg, kosher salt, coconut milk, large, beaten eggs, honey, pandan extract, vanilla extract, and unsalted butter.
