Pelek Baw was the capital city of the planet Haruun Kal. Azita Cruuz, a human native of the world, grew up alone in the city as an orphan and encountered many other children there who still had parents. At one point, she passed through a tree-lined square of tan buildings that was full of these families as she sadly clutched a book to her chest. As an adult, Cruuz told Jedi Knight Mace Windu, also a native of Haruun Kaal, about Pelek Baw when he asked if his memory of Haruun Kaal having lots of children was correct while the pair traveled together by 42 BBY.
In the current Star Wars canon, Pelek Baw appeared in a flashback in the third issue of the 2024 comic book miniseries Star Wars: Mace Windu. The issue was written by Marc Bernardin, illustrated by Georges Jeanty, and published by Marvel Comics on April 17, 2024. The city originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where it first appeared in Matthew Stover's 2003 novel, Shatterpoint.
