The Pesmenben system was first mentioned in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, How I Wonder Where We Are," a 1990 roleplaying game source article published in issue thirteen of the Voyages SF magazine, which placed the system in the Trebela sector; however, as the magazine was released outside of the Lucas Licensing process, its canonicity within the Star Wars Legends continuity was never confirmed. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas subsequently placed it in grid square Q-11, and its StarWars.com Online Companion overrode the Voyages SF placement by establishing that the Pesmenben system was a part of the Teraab sector.
