This prototype weapon was developed by Rythani Products on behalf of the Galactic Empire at some point shortly after the Battle of Endor. It was stored in Prototype Lab A in the Rythani Products Building on Rydonni Prime before it was stolen by professional thief Sienn Sconn. Sconn was able to get away with its theft, but not before Princess Kalieva K'ntarr placed a tracking device on it on behalf of Moff Caerbellak in an attempt to find and destroy the New Republic cells they believed the weapon would be transported to.
