The Sargesso asteroids were introduced in Prima Games' Official Strategy Guide for the November 19, 2002 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. The guide was authored by David Hodgson and published on November 26 of the same year. The 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas placed the Sargesso system, and therefore the asteroids, in grid square S-8.
