Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the rogue archaeologist Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra traveled to the temple and recruited the Jedi-in-training Luke Skywalker to accompany her, with the promise of a Jedi artifact he could use to gain an advantage over the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Skywalker and Aphra ended up accidentally releasing a Starweird, a dangerous creature that resonated with the Force that had been imprisoned in the Sason Temple by Jedi Masters Shaak Ti and Aayla Secura during the Clone Wars. Skywalker and Aphra defeated the creature after a difficult confrontation.
