Shattercord was a weapon used by ships of the Chiss Ascendancy and Paccosh, capable of burning through sealed hatches. While shattercord was useful for breaching hatches of vessels, it generally required the target to be immobilized or disabled by a Crippler net or plasma sphere to be fully effective. Some Paccian commandos used shattercord to destroy one of the Kilji picket cruiser Hammer's hatches.
