Constructed under the tutelage of Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati's lightsaber outwardly resembled a Jedi saber, and was described by lightsaber architect Huyang as containing several classical design motifs. Hati's weapon featured a slimline hilt, with a handgrip wrapped in white leather, a circular disc-like handguard, and an emitter which ended in three sharp points. The blade, like that of her master's weapon, appeared to fluctuate between red and orange; while never truly being one or the other.
Shin Hati's lightsaber first appeared in the teaser trailer of the Ahsoka television series for Disney+, which was released in August 2023. According to showrunner Dave Filoni, Hati's lightsaber being orange-red instead of the traditional Sith red blade was intentional because he always felt as a kid that Darth Vader's lightsaber seemed to fluctuate from visual effects to being a little bit more orange, so he wished to not make a straight-up orange lightsaber, but a double-colored lightsaber so kids who watch the show may not come up with quick conclusions about Shin Hati's real allegiances.
