This book, entitled "Starships of the Empire and the Rebellion," is a part of the Star Wars Encyclopedia set of reference works released by De Agostini. Its release date was October 12, 2021.
A major factor in the Galactic Empire's galactic dominance was its vast and technologically advanced naval force. Their Star Destroyers were unmatched by any adversary. Conversely, the Rebel Alliance had significantly fewer military ships at their disposal, so they became adept at repurposing any available vessel, even going so far as to commandeer Imperial ships. Consequently, the Galactic Civil War was a heavily lopsided battle, particularly as the Empire continued to grow and enhance its fleet with newer, more potent, and more sophisticated vessels. In this struggle, both sides stretched their resources to the breaking point, leading to a conclusion that nobody anticipated.
- The Victory-class Star Destroyers are occasionally called Victoria -class and Victoria II -class Star Destroyers.
