Sometime after the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Empire learned that the people of Tureen VII was secretly providing aid to the Alliance to Restore the Republic. In response the Empire launched a siege on Tureen VII by setting up the blockade of Tureen VII around the planet, and established bases on the planet's twin moons. The Alliance attempted three times to break through the Imperial blockade but were unsuccessful.
Relief eventually reached Tureen VII thanks to a rebel team led by Captains Leia Organa and Han Solo. With the siege broken and Imperial bases destroyed, the rebels escaped, with the exception of protocol droid C-3PO. C-3PO remained in Imperial captivity until his astromech droid friend, R2-D2, rescued him sometime later.

The rebels have failed to break the blockade three times. Luke Skywalker was thinking something big, like a Star Destroyer. The rebels have finally succeeded stole the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Harbinger, and used it to break the blockade. But then, it did not notice of Darth Vader, who sent Task Force 99 to capture Admiral Verette to reclaim the Destroyer and capture Skywalker.
