The Sisters of the Ninth Plane were a group that ran a children's medcenter on the astronomical object Novor during the High Republic Era. By 231 BBY, Ola Hest—an enforcer of the Hutt Clan—was sent to collect protection money from the medcenter, which the Sisters refused to pay and told her to leave. Afterward, Hest turned the thrusters of her frigate on the medcenter, bringing it down and killing all inside. The enforcer later claimed that it had been an accident and was eventually captured by Jedi Master Porter Engle.
In 231 BBY, while imprisoned aboard the Galactic Republic prison ship Restitution, the prisoner Sestin Blin told Nihil Tempest Runner Lourna Dee—who was also imprisoned on the Restitution—about the incident involving Hest at the children's medcenter. Blin also informed Dee of her belief that it had not been an accident and that the enforcer had known what she was doing and wanted people to know what she was doing.
The Sisters of the Ninth Plane were mentioned in The High Republic: Tempest Runner, a 2021 audio drama written by Cavan Scott and published as a part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I. The spelling of the group's name was later confirmed with the release of the audio drama's script in 2022.
