Snow lizard

Snow lizards were a type of lizard that were hunted and eaten by members of the predatory wampa species, which were native to the ice planet Hoth.

In the new Star Wars canon, snow lizards were first mentioned in Star Wars Workbook: 3rd Grade Math, a 2017 workbook written by Claire Piddock and Megan Butler. The creatures are mentioned as part of a hypothetical math problem in which a wampa captures twelve ice rats and sixteen snow lizards and distributes them evenly amongst seven other wampas. Snow lizards originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were first mentioned in the 1997 novel Planet of Twilight, which was written by Barbara Hambly.
